6-string Acoustic-electric Guitar, with Rosewood Back/Sides, Spruce Top, African Mahogany Neck, Ebony Fretboard, and SRT Electronics – Natural
This Comfortable Thinline is Ready to Perform
With its thinline cutaway body style, the Yamaha APX1200II acoustic-electric guitar offers a comfortable and lightweight experience for all players. Between its solid rosewood back and sides, solid spruce top, and innovative APX soundhole shape, the APX1200II sings with a powerful low-mid response and wide sonic range. When you’re ready to plug in and play, you’ll be rewarded with studio-quality sound thanks to its built-in Studio Response Technology (SRT) pickup and preamp. From practice at home to plugged-in performances, your expectations will be exceeded with the Yamaha APX1200II acoustic-electric guitar.
Studio sound onstage
Normally you can best hear a guitar’s subtle nuances when it’s miked in the studio, but the APX1200II has Yamaha’s SRT system, which brings those wonderful acoustic sounds to the stage. Using blend control, you can balance the output from the under-bridge piezo with the modeling of a Neumann KM 56 small-diaphragm condenser, Neumann U 67 large-diaphragm condenser mic, or a Royer R-122 active ribbon microphone. You may also select between close or distant mic placement with the focus/wide button and dial in the right amount of body vibration influence with the resonance knob. All of this means you can create studio-quality, unique tone with natural clarity, right onstage.
Comfort and playability
The Yamaha APX1200II is a thinline acoustic-electric guitar, which means it has a thinner profile that fits up close to your body, so it’s easy and comfortable to play. It’s also lighter in weight than full-depth acoustics, which any player can appreciate on stage. Many players at Musiekwereld appreciate the reduced bulk of a thinline guitar, and with the APX1200II, you’ll still enjoy full, rich tone despite the thinner design.
Quality wood plus innovation equals brilliant sound
Sitka spruce is highly valued for guitar tops — and for good reason. This select grade of stiff but elastic softwood is gorgeous and is equally suited to aggressive strumming, flatpicking, and even fingerpicking styles of play. It’s the perfect match for the APX1200II’s rich-sounding rosewood back and sides, setting a wide-ranging sonic foundation for any style. The sound of this premium tonewood combination is projected through the innovative APX soundhole, which focuses low-mid energy for powerful fundamentals and sonic punch.
